Our Team
About you…
Yes, you.
You might have noticed at the top of the page it says, “Our Team,” that’s because our work together is a team approach to life’s challenges. The challenges you’re facing may be monumental and all-encompassing or may feel more like an underlying, nagging sense that things just aren’t right.
You wonder why everything else you have tried is not working.
You have family and friends, but may feel disconnected from them.
You wonder if parenting will always be this difficult.
You don’t understand why your child is behaving this way.
As a teen, you feel lost, broken, misunderstood, unseen and unheard.
You put yourself at the bottom of the list.
You may be a people-pleaser and hold yourself to very high standards.
You desire better relationships and confidence in life
You want to learn more about anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, etc.
You have experienced trauma and need a place that feels safe to work through it.
You may be experiencing chronic pain and are looking for a mind, body approach for treatment.
You may be a military member or spouse who is struggling with the unique and always changing challenges of military life.
How We can help
You are the expert on your life. You know what works for you and what doesn’t. We are there to help you sort through it all, work on your goals, and build on your strengths. We use a whole body, person in environment approach. The Therapeutic approach at Lotus Child and Family Therapy is laid-back and casual. It may even seem like you are meeting a friend for coffee, however, the session is all about you. The conversation will focus on what is important to you. Taking a look at the bigger picture, your therapist can offer insight and suggestions for ways to manage the challenges.
About Me

About Me
I am first and foremost a military spouse (retired after 31 years) and a mom. My husband and I met as teenagers and have been together ever since. We have two young adult children and two dogs (despite my ongoing efforts to add more!). After moving around the world, we are happy to call Colorado home, where we enjoy being closer to our home state of Nebraska.
Outside of work, I value time with my family and dogs. I enjoy reading, hiking, shopping, photography, and practicing yoga, which I strive to incorporate into my daily self-care.
Professional Bio
As a therapist, I am personable, genuine, and laid back. I believe the connection between client and therapist is essential to meaningful growth and healing. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients of all ages feel understood and empowered.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing concerns such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, ADHD, trauma, and grief and loss. I am especially passionate about supporting families and strengthening parent-child relationships. Children often communicate their emotions through behavior rather than words, and I enjoy helping caregivers better understand what their child is expressing while supporting children in developing healthy coping skills.
Parenting and family life can be challenging and overwhelming at times. My goal is to help families find calm amidst the chaos, improve communication, and build stronger, more connected relationships. My approach is client-centered, empathic, holistic, and tailored to each individual or family’s unique needs. I feel honored to walk alongside clients as they navigate life’s ups and downs.
