Supervision will be provided by Lori Derr, LCSW, RPT. My goal as your supervisor is to help you develop into the type of social worker you want to be. I want to help you to identify your ideal client, grow your skills as a clinician, feel confident in your work, explore your interests, practice self-care and find the work/life balance that works best for you. As a supervisor I will help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to work competently with your clients, gain licensure, and begin your journey as a licensed clinical social worker.

My supervision style is authentic, laid back and fun. I am interested in not only helping you grow as a professional but getting to know you as a person. I want to know what brought you to this work and what your goals are for your future as a social worker. I value your knowledge, skills and experience and will encourage you to identify what you already know and where you need to grow. Supervision with me will be supportive, authentic, and a safe space to have challenging conversations.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Colorado and Florida. I am a Registered Play Therapist with the Association for Play Therapy. I have a certificate in child-parent psychotherapy and have supported families within the foster and adoptive systems. In addition, I am a facilitator for Circle of Security parenting. I am currently training in EMDR. My clinical experience has been in community mental health agencies, private practice, and within the school system. I have worked as an adjunct professor at Pensacola State College. I have also provided community trainings about trauma, attachment, and parenting. My experience with supervising MSW’s started in 2022 with supervising MSW students from the University of Denver and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I supervise students within my practice, as well as, students located in agencies that do not have social work supervisors on staff. I recently expanded my solo practice into a group practice and currently supervise two employees who are working towards their hours for licensure.
